As we come to the end of a vibrant and memorable first part of the Summer term at Forest, I want to take a moment to reflect on the many highlights and the incredible efforts of our pupils, staff, and wider community.
One of the standout experiences was the unforgettable five-day residential with our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. The trip was filled with laughter, learning, and above all, character-building moments. From challenging activities to team-building exercises, our children displayed remarkable energy, enthusiasm, teamwork, and resilience. It was a joy to witness them thrive outside the classroom, pushing their limits and supporting each other every step of the way.
Year 3 and Year 4 also had their time to shine during their exciting cricket day – a wonderful celebration of sport, skills, and sunshine! Meanwhile, down in Kindergarten, our youngest Forest children took on the roles of police officers for a day, bringing great delight and plenty of smiles as they explored the world of community helpers.
Another heartfelt congratulations must go to all of our pupils for their superb efforts during the summer term assessments. The outcomes reflect not just strong attainment, but more importantly, exceptional progress. The children's dedication and positive attitudes have been inspiring, and we are immensely proud of them all.
As part of our ongoing centenary celebrations, we were honoured to welcome many alumni back to Forest Prep for a series of afternoon teas. It has been deeply moving to hear them speak so warmly of their time at the school – and even more so of the pride they feel seeing what Forest has become today.
Looking ahead, we have an exciting final half term in store. Our Summer Show promises to be a spectacular event, and we’ll be celebrating our wonderful Year 6 leavers in style. We also approach the grand finale of our centenary year: Speech Night – a moment to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and look to the future.
We hope everyone has enjoyed the week's final festivities, culminating in the party of all parties – FOREST FEST! What a way to end the half term.
Wishing all our families a restful and happy break. We look forward to seeing you all for a thrilling final chapter of this remarkable school year.
